On the last day of the old firm in Glasgow, a man was severely attacked.
A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after an attack on Rainfield Street on Sunday, August 29.
At around 10pm, a man got out of a white car and punched and kicked two people in the head.
One of the injured, a 25-year-old man, was assisted by members of the public, who called for an ambulance.
He was then taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries.
The suspect entered the white car and drove south on Rainfield Street.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Detective Constable John Fagan said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Rainfield Street around 10pm that night, who either witnessed the incident, or maybe the suspect later. I saw him getting out of the car, it was day Rangers v Celtic The match at Abrox Stadium, which can help people remember where they were that night.
“We especially want to talk to a group of women who helped the injured man immediately after the incident, and who saw the suspect return to his car.
“Anyone with information should contact police on Stuart Street by telephone number 101 regarding the August 29, 2021 incident number 4225.
