A man was brutally assaulted after an old firm in Glasgow when police called witnesses.

On the last day of the old firm in Glasgow, a man was severely attacked.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after an attack on Rainfield Street on Sunday, August 29.

At around 10pm, a man got out of a white car and punched and kicked two people in the head.

One of the injured, a 25-year-old man, was assisted by members of the public, who called for an ambulance.

He was then taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries.

The suspect entered the white car and drove south on Rainfield Street.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective Constable John Fagan said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of ​​Rainfield Street around 10pm that night, who either witnessed the incident, or maybe the suspect later. “We especially want to talk to a group of women who helped the injured man immediately after the incident, and who saw the suspect return to his car.
