A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the suspected murder of a woman who went missing from her home in August.
Norma Gerolmi, 70, of High Gate, north London, was reported missing by police on Monday (September 20th).
He had not been seen by his friends and family since mid-August.
A 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were initially arrested on suspicion of fraud and false imprisonment, but both were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
The man was arrested at an address in Islington on Friday, October 1, while the woman was arrested in Finchley, London.
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn said.: “Norma has not been seen by her friends or family since mid-August. As a result of our investigation, we are extremely concerned that Norma may have been harmed.
Her house showed no sign of her plans to leave, food was left in her fridge and she said nothing to her friends and relatives. It’s completely out of character and as time goes on, it adds to our fear that something has gone wrong.
“Given these concerns for her well-being, and to prevent the suffering of her friends and relatives, it is important that anyone with information has contacted the police. If anyone knows where Norma is. If he has seen anything in the area where Norma lived from mid-August to mid-September or if you know anything about what happened to Norma, please contact the police. No matter how trivial you may be, there may be important information that will help us find the norm.
“Norma, if you are safe and well, please contact the police.”
