Adrian Dunbar of Line of Duty is confident that the show will return in season 7.

Adrian Dunbar of Line of Duty has addressed the future of the show and said that ‘Sure’ will be back in season 7 of the show – and he already has plot ideas.

The show’s favorite, who plays DSIT Hastings, predicts a “very exciting” future for the show’s crime-fighting AC-12 unit.

The Irishman offered fans of the show hope that another episode of the thriller was still to come.

“I’m sure the BBC wants to do another series. We do, because we want to be together again,” he said.

“I have two ideas,” said Adrian, 63. GQ Magazine..

“We all have ideas that we share – but I don’t want to say what they are. The story includes things that can come together to make a very interesting Series Seven.”

Despite Adrian’s promises, Jade Mercurio has said he has “no plans” for further episodes.

The TV writer said: “If there was a way, we would definitely take it seriously.”

The sixth series of the Police Corruption drama was a ratings juggernaut earlier this year, drawing 15.24 million TV ratings at the end of the season, making it the most watched drama series in 21st century Britain. ۔

The last episode of the BBC One series features DSU Ian Buckles, played by Nigel Boyle, who unveiled the mysterious H, the corrupt police officer at the top of a criminal conspiracy.

Discussing what he would do next, Mercurio told BBC Breakfast: “We are currently shooting a series called Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure as a bomb disposal officer. And this is a very interesting possibility, maybe years on the new screen

“And then I’m taking stock of what I’m going to do next – so, a lot of things potentially in the pipeline, it’s a very exciting time.”

When asked if it could include Line of Duty, he said: “I think if Line of Duty fans put Sleeper at the top of the bestseller charts, I think I want more work. It can inspire me.

“But for now, there are no plans to take this question seriously.”

He added: “We are all very happy with the response to Season Six, it did very well.

“It’s wonderful to be a part of something like this, an absolute once in a lifetime experience that the cast and I really wanted to be a part of.

“So if there was a way, we would obviously take it seriously, but just to be honest with you, we have no plans yet.”
