A man has been arrested in connection with a “serious attack” on Ederry when police hunted down two teenage girls.

A 31-year-old man attacked a 52-year-old man in Sterling Street, Ardery on Saturday, June 12.

He has been charged in connection and is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Police are continuing to interrogate two teenage girls who were allegedly involved.

Both are described as white Scottish, between 14 and 16 years old and of thin build.

Detective Sergeant Mark Nelson said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation so far, following our previous appeal.

“Please call 101 with any further information from anyone, referring to incident number 4214 on Saturday, June 12.
