A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 50-year-old man was found dead in a Manchester home.
Police arrived at the property on Druit Road at 12 noon today after reports of concerns about the man’s well-being.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, Greater Manchester Police said tonight.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wilkinson said the man’s death was considered an isolated incident.
He has informed anyone to come forward and talk to the officers.
He said: “An investigation into the murder has been launched this afternoon and we are currently trying to establish the circumstances that led to the tragic death of this man.
“This is considered an isolated incident that does not pose much of a threat to the public and we currently have a woman in custody for questioning.
“Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police as soon as possible.”

It comes hours after a man died after being dragged out of the Manchester Canal with a severe head injury.
Two men who had been drinking with the victim before the tragedy have been arrested after a horrific scene near the city center.
The man, believed to be 50 years old, was pulled out of the water and taken to hospital in critical condition.
Despite the efforts of doctors, he passed away this morning.
