Hundreds of firefighters and 15 engines were battling a fire in a high-rise hotel and the development of flats near the Thames.
The video shows dozens of emergency workers in a covered building on Lombard Road in Battersea, south-west London.
Hundreds of people could be seen outside on the sidewalk after being apparently evacuated.
The London Fire Brigade initially said the second-floor flat caught fire around 11.20 p.m. He later clarified that the fire started in a hotel room.
Seventy firefighters were joined by 30 more people amid fears of a fire in the building.
A witness, journalist Swain Harold, tweeted: “Large-scale operation underway in Battersea. The building has been evacuated.
Eyewitnesses say there was smoke up to the second floor.
He said the fire broke out at the Falcon Wharf Development, which includes luxury hotel Raphael as well as private apartments.
Swain added: “The stench of smoke in the air. More buildings were evacuated.”
The London Fire Brigade said this morning: “Fifteen fire engines and about 100 firefighters were called in to set fire to a mixed-use commercial and residential building on Lombard Road in Battersea.
Most of the rooms on the second floor of the hotel were destroyed by fire, and smoke rose to the top floor of the building.
“Firefighters will be at the scene overnight.
The brigade was called at 23.22 and the fire was under control till 01.25.
Firefighters from Beatrice, Wandsworth, Cliffham, Fulham and nearby fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
