The CBEEBIES favorite Balamori passed away 16 years ago – but it is still fresh in the minds of its fans.
The popular series was set in an imaginary Scottish village with lucky characters like Miss Holly and Susie Sweet who were a favorite of young viewers.
Balamouri, which ran from 2002-2005, won the Best Preschool Live Action Series at the 2004 BAFTA Children’s Awards.
So what’s the story for Balamori’s cast now?
Miss Holly. – Julie Wilson Growth
Smiling, Balamori teacher Miss Holly performed a children’s play and always wore a green dress.
That was played by the actress. Julie Wilson Growth, 46, who made the long journey from children’s tele to Craiglang in the drama Steel Game two years ago.
In one episode, Julie starred alongside her steel game star husband, Greg Humphrey, who plays Victor McDay.
She is currently appearing in the stage play Evas Droping at the Traverse Theater in Edinburgh.
Archie the inventor. – Miles Joop.
The useless inventor Archie lived in large numbers. Pink Fortress And wore a purple robe.
He was played by comedian Meles Joop, who has appeared on The Tired of Eight, Outnumbered, Netflix the Crown, and Michael McIntyre’s comedy Road Show elsewhere on regular TV.
He played Weatherman in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and his other film credits include The Legend of Tarzan, Sherlock Holmes, Johnny English Reborn.
The Mails had previously revealed that after seeing Balamory’s young fans in the audience, he was forced to cut gaudy gigs from his Edinburgh Festival stand-up performances.
“I went on stage and there were 10 kids in the front row. It’s a nightmare,” he told The Guardian.
“The show was only 40 minutes long and I had to keep cutting out large chunks of dirt.”
Penny Pocket – Kim Sarkazi.
Penny Pocket had math skills and ran a village shop and cafe with Susie.
The role earned Jordi actress Kim Sarkezi an award for her reputation as a disabled person.
After her death, she became a writer and producer with her company.
Last year, she starred in the short film Madness, which won two gongs at the Royal Television Society Awards for her role as Jasmine.
Panser Spencer – Rod Christensen.
Smiling, Spencer was tasked with painting the colorful houses of Balamori, but he also made music from his famous staircase, which had musical steps.
After Balamory’s demise, actor Rod Christensen quit Showbiz and became the driver of a theater school stage coach, which the children sometimes recognized from the show, recognizing him.
Although she stayed out of the limelight, her daughter made headlines when it was revealed that she was a porn star.
Rylan Joey, who lives in LA, said she became involved in pornography “for laughter.”
PC plum. – Andrew Agno.
PC Plum, an officer from Dost Mohalla, patrolled the crime-free village of Balamori as he dreamed of becoming a spy one day.
He was played by actor Andrew Agno, who has been directing children’s TV programs and had his own CBB live theater show.
Andrew is a regular at the annual Pento Circuit, having played middlemen at the Senterland Festival of Pantomime Snow White and Seven Dorfs since 2014.
He has also popped up in Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan, and the 44-year-old is already queuing up to star in Cinderella this Christmas.
Susie Sweet – Mary Reagans.
One of the most famous characters was Susie Sweet who ran the village shop with a penny pocket.
She waved a flag of wings welcoming visitors to her shop.
Actress Marie Riggs was famous for Balamory, but she also played Effie McKinsey in Take the High Road.
She won a Sony Award in 1993 for her performance as Jane Armor in the radio drama Till A’s The Seas Dry Dry – and starred in the Taggart and Steel game.
Balamouri’s fans were saddened to learn in 2013 that she had calmed down “by holding her daughter’s hand” after suffering a stroke a year ago.
Juicy Jump – بکی عاقب۔ And کاسیہ حداد۔
Josie Jump was a fitness instructor at the front door primary school of Miss Holly Nursery School.
He loved to tell the story to the young audience of Balamori through exercise and dance.
Actress Boki Akib (pictured) played the role of Josie but left the role in 2004 after a collision with a university education.
Kasia Haddad was replaced by Aqib, but the show’s young fans could not understand why Josie looked different and her parents complained.
After Balamory’s death in 2005, Cassia worked as a doctor for Wendy’s.
Eddie McCreddy – Juliet Cadzo.
Eddie McCreedy drove the nursery school bus but traveled all over the world, and there were all kinds of pictures and memorabilia to talk about.
She was also a motor mechanic, and when she didn’t sing in the driver’s seat, she would fix cars in her car, and occasionally see other road users.
Actress Juliet Cadzo, now 70, appeared in Doctor Who and Skins after Balamory’s death.
She also starred as Winston’s fantasy woman in the 2006 Steel Game.
In 2016, Juliet starred as Susie Fraser in Scottish soap River City and joined the cast of Pentomime Snow White in 2018.
