Vigil’s Martin Compston broke his silence on the infamous death scene that left fans speechless.
The actor played Craig Burke in a new BBC drama that started last night.
But viewers were surprised that her character was killed while riding an HMS Wiggle, with early reports of an overdose of heroin.
The operation continued with DCI Amy Silva – played by Soren Jones – sent to investigate her death.
The line of duty of choice admitted that it knew from the offset that its role would not take much airtime.
Martin, 37, explained: “We were about to start shooting for Line of Duty Series Six, and I was having dinner with Simon Heath, who is its executive producer and veggie.
“She mentioned in blue that this wonderful ‘red herring part’ is coming to World Productions and the BBC on a new series that everyone was excited about, Weigel, and she told me, ‘What?’ Do you want to do this “
And the actor has gone out of his way to make sure his character’s death is kept secret.
He said emphatically: “I haven’t told a single soul. You can’t give these things away – no one wants to spoil, and I don’t want to end the surprise for anyone.”
Even my family and people close to me who knew I wasn’t filming Wiggle, I just told them I had a limited role.
Martin admitted: “I once found it interesting to have a sudden death.
“What I found particularly interesting was that Burke died and – when you think you’ve seen the last part of it – it turns out that, no, he still has a lot more. There is and there is to say and he has made it so he is no more, he has not gone down without a fight. “
And how does the drama end?
Well, Martin revealed that he would find out with fellow viewers.
He confessed, “It’s a complete mystery, and I don’t really want to know in advance.”
“I’m really looking forward to tagging so I can see everyone else.
“It’s great to catch, but I think ‘Event Tele’ is still one thing, so I’m excited to see it live every week and find out who or what killed Burke as That’s what everyone does. “
VGL airs on BBC One on Monday at 9pm.
