MET police have spoken to the woman who claimed that Prince Andrew raped her when she was just 17 years old.
Virginia Roberts alleges that in 2001 she was trafficked from the United States to London by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew at the home of her friend Gaslein Maxwell.
Officers are believed to be in contact with 38-year-old Virginia Roberts, a move that could pave the way for Scotland Yard to open a criminal investigation. The Sunday Times has revealed.
The Duke of York has vehemently denied all allegations made by Roberts and his team is trying to get the case out before the trial.
Robert’s allegations against the prince have been investigated by Matt on at least the last two occasions.
However, no full investigation was opened at any time and it was claimed that this case is a matter for the authorities in the United States.
The decision to speak with Roberts comes after he filed a civil lawsuit in August accusing Duke of “first-degree rape” after a visit to a Trump nightclub in Mayfair.
Duke claims he has no recollection of meeting her.
After filing the lawsuit, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick announced that he would reconsider Matt Roberts’ allegations.
“As a result of what is happening, I have asked my team to take another look at the content,” he said.
“No one is above the law”
Sun, meanwhile, revealed how the Duke’s siblings decided nine months ago that there was “no way back” for the scandal-stricken kingdom.

Charles, Ann and Edward held a summit in January where they ruled the Duke of York and never wanted to return to public life.
A source said: “Nine months ago, Charles, Ann and Edward held a meeting, a summit, and agreed that they had no way back.”
This came as sources close to the future King of Wales revealed to the Sunday Times that he believed Andrew was “ungrateful and ungrateful” for his position.
Sources claim that this has created public anger and is a threat to the family.
One told the Sunday Times: “There is no way in the world that he will ever come back, the family will never let that happen.”
Wells, 39, and his father Charles spoke to the Queen separately when Andrew resigned from royal duty after a Newsnight interview about two years ago.
A friend of William’s claimed: “He’s not a fan of Uncle Andrew.”
And the royal source of the Sunday Times claimed that one of the “motivations” that really did come was William’s uncle’s attitude.
He added: “No suggestion is grateful to this institution, anything that might make the public think that senior family members are not grateful for their position, (in William’s opinion). It’s really dangerous. “
The Queen is paying Andy’s legal fees from her Duchy of Lancaster proceeds, prompting a backlash against the royal family.
Andrew has twice bowed to Balmoral this summer to hide with his mother and avoid American lawyers.
He even missed the birth of his granddaughter after Princess Beatrice went to work.
Andrew’s U.S. legal team eventually accepted that the case was filed Sept. 21 and that a preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month in New York.
His partner, Maxwell, will stand trial next month in New York on charges of sex trafficking and aiding Jeffrey Appstein in recruiting young girls.
