The merger of the Scarborough plumbing business with PHT Solutions opens the door to bigger contracts and new services.

Tom Jenkinson and Joe Blackwell of PHT Solutions

As a result of the merger, JHB Plumbing will become part of the PHT Solutions brand.

“We have an excellent working relationship with JHB Plumbing and combining the business with PHT Solutions will allow us to win more and bigger contracts and make the services we can offer clients more versatile and flexible,” said PHT Solutions director Tom Jenkinson.

Joe Blackwell, director of JHB Plumbing, said the business synergy was too good to ignore.

“The two companies have excellent service and interoperability, each bringing a slightly different focus to the new combined company,” Joe said.

Expanded PHT Solutions has begun work on its first major contract since the merger, involving the installation of 50 sanitary facilities in residential buildings in the Scarborough area for a local contractor. Wet areas feature fully waterproofed bathrooms with a shower area flush with the rest of the floor.

PHT Solutions also just won a contract to provide plumbing, heating and tiling services to another local developer for a new large eco-home in Scarborough, including a filtered, recyclable drainage system and an air source heat pump.

In addition to the merger and contracts, PHT Solutions has launched a new microcementing service to its growing list of general residential and commercial plumbing, heating and tiling services.

Cemher UK currently supplies micro-cementing plants for floors, walls, bathrooms and work surfaces.

“This is a high quality product that we are very proud to offer our customers,” added Tom. “Cement plaster, microcement is carefully rubbed by hand, creating a seamless surface, similar to what you can see on polished concrete.

“The results are amazing, but this is a very skilled job that requires time and precision from our fully qualified, trained contractors.”

For Tom, these recent successes reinforce a decision he made in 2013 after completing an internship at his grandfather’s and uncle’s firm in Scarborough.

Since then, PHT Solutions has expanded to serve clients in North Yorkshire, including Rydale and York.

“My approach to business is the same now as it was when I started almost 10 years ago: PHT Solutions offers skilled, caring professionals who deliver quality services to our clients at a price that ensures they get great value for money.” Tom said.

The specialist tile firm offers contemporary and traditional projects, including restorations and brand new installations for walls, floors, bathrooms and countertops.

Its heating services cover gas, oil and electric central heating systems and as a qualified installer, HETAS PHT Solutions installs wood and solid fuel stoves, chimneys and chimneys.

Working primarily with Ideal Boilers on the gas side, PHT Solutions is one of their Max accredited installers, allowing the company to offer an extended 12-year warranty on the Ideal Boiler Vogue Max range.

“We take safety and training with the utmost seriousness and professionalism,” adds Tom, “and promote the GasSafe registry to ensure that all work is performed by qualified and certified engineers, engineers who complete a five-year retraining accreditation. ”
