The owner of a DOG paid 200 for a copy of his zoo – but he got a “terrible teddy” back.
Rebecca McCain, 47, wanted a handmade memoir as Larry’s days are numbered.
But she was afraid to return after 12 weeks. The shop worker said: “I went, ‘Oh my God.’ It was as if you were winning at a fairground.
“I was very disappointed. It doesn’t look like Larry, it could be a random dog. It doesn’t really look like a thing.”
Rebecca placed the order with the American firm Patties when her older sister, Carol, 49, died of pneumonia in June and left some money.
Rebecca, from Birmingham, said of her 13-year-old dog: “Carol loved Larry and I’m obsessed with my dog.
“Larry is getting old and I wanted to get something that I could keep to remind him when he left.
“Instead, I’ve found a terrifying teddy bear that looks like it was made in the dark. Larry hates it too.
After demanding a refund, he said Patties offered “if I pay 50 50 and I’ll see to it.”
But he added: “I refused and am still demanding a refund.”
A spokesman for Pattis said: “Unfortunately, in this case, our designers only got two pictures and a very brief description to recreate Larry.”
He offered a free replacement if he paid £ 36 shipping but didn’t hear back.
