A heartbreaking tribute has been paid to a “beloved” man who died after allegedly colliding with a car in a supermarket car park.
Derek Blakeshaw, 46, Died at Morrison’s place in Cardonald., Glasgow, Friday night.
After Derek’s tragic death, devastated friends and family turned to social media.
One man wrote: “Last night a brother was lost to another mother. The devastation is not even close.
“Easy decks, my brother.”
One of his colleagues posted a picture of a candle and a can of beer with the caption: “To my older friend.”
Another wrote: “What a pity, dear man, a heartbreaking thought about his whole family.”
Derek’s cousin paid tribute: “There are no words to describe this Derek. Relax. Until we meet again.”
A 17-year-old boy arrested in connection with the tragedy has been released for further investigation.
Derek was allegedly hit by a Silver Ford Mondio car, police said.
“Our thoughts are with Mr Blackshaw’s family and friends at this difficult time,” said Sergeant Ryan McAuley of Scotland’s Road Policing Unit.
“Our investigation into the incident is ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen Mr Blackshaw in the area before the collision or before Silver Ford Mundio.”
