Strictly less dancing Arlene Phillips has signed up for IMA Celebrity to become the oldest contestant ever.
The 78-year-old is set to become one of the most popular faces on the popular ITV show this year. Mirror.
“Arlene is strong and tough and her energy is immense.
“There is no doubt that she will be dancing around the campfire to beat the cold and keep her spirits up.
“It should be fun,” said one source.
The oldest contestant on the show is Stanley, the father of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who starred in the 17th series in 2017 at the age of 77.
Series 18 winner Harry Redknapp won when he was 71, and Caitlin Jenner starred in the show at the age of 70.
Arlene, who has choreographed several West End and Broadway musicals, has had a very successful career.
After teaching dance at Pineapple Dance Studios and Italy County Stage School, she began her career.
The star introduced herself as an assistant choreographer in Annie (1982) and was the stage director of Lord of Dance in 1996.
Arlene was a strict judge from 2004 to 2008 and later shared her expertise on BBC One’s So You Think You Dawn. And the Sky One dance.
She has also worked on programs such as Britannia High, Dance X and Strictly Dance Fever.
The former dancer doesn’t have much time to start the ITV show.
