This is due to the fact that strong winds and heavy snowfall rage in the country all night.

Scots woke up this morning under a blanket of snow as the Met Office issued ‘danger to life’ warnings.

The warning is in effect for large sections of the country and is expected to last until Friday morning.

Anton wrote in the post: “Good morning from the very cold winter streets of Glasgow.

“A quick walk into town this morning to check in and help out some of our friends in this crazy weather.

“I came across a very young man who says that he is waiting for temporary accommodation in a boarding house, but for now he feels safer on the street, and not in one of the hostels.

“I have given him a tent for now to try and protect him from the elements and will try to contact him later to see if we can help further.
