School children Scotland Up to COP26 in Glasgow, as many people as possible are being asked to get thinking hats to create an advertisement that encourages them to use the train.
More than 5,000 schools across the country have been invited to take part in a competition run by Scotland Railways where they can create one-minute advertisements or large posters to promote the benefits of rail travel. Because Glasgow is ready to host climate crisis talks.
Four schools can win 2,500 each to spend on new technology for their schools.
Winning entries will be displayed on Scottish train stations and on social media.
Alex Heinz, Managing Director of Scotland Railways, said: “Railways play a key role in making Scotland green.
“We want our young people to help us show off Scotland’s railways – reduce our impact on the environment by getting as many people and goods out of our cars as possible.
“We are de-carbonating Scotland’s railways – investing in more electrification and new green trains – and we hope this competition will highlight our positive contribution to Scotland’s communities, economy and environment. Will help. ”
