A bridge over the Clyde River was closed by police when a woman was found on the wrong side of the barrier.
Emergency crews were called to the scene this evening where a 25-year-old man was standing in critical condition on the Tridston Bridge.
Police closed both entrances to the crossing after being called at around 6:20 pm this evening.
The woman was taken to hospital for medical check-up.
A police spokesman said: “On Friday, August 27, at around 6:20 pm, officers were called to report a concern for a 25-year-old woman on the wrong side of the barrier on the Tridston Bridge.
“Officers attended and helped and the woman was taken to hospital for diagnosis.”
