English Premier League side Arsenal could be frustrated with the pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odigard this summer. Carlos Ancelotti, manager of New Las Blancos, has reportedly made it clear to the player that he is needed in the Spanish capital for next season.
Norway was sent back to join the Gunners in January, where it made a strong impact despite its short-term debt. He returned to Real Madrid this summer, but it is understood Arsenal are trying to bring him back on another loan deal or on a more permanent basis.
“Every player is important and he will make his own decisions when he has the opportunity to observe his team on the pitch,” Ancelotti said at the start of the campaign. The Norwegian captain took the lead in the crucial minutes of Real Madrid’s pre-season friendly. Espana football, Insultity believes the Audi Guard should stay.
This contradicts earlier reports that the state of Madrid is ready to sell the young midfielder. Ancelotti has reportedly met with the young Norwegian to discuss in person the player’s role in the manager’s plans for the upcoming season.
The Italian has reportedly guaranteed Odeguard opportunities that have been difficult to come by in the years since joining the club. It’s made to feel important, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s elbowing to roommates with behemoths like Luka Modric and Tony Cruz in the early eleven.
However, judging by what happened last season, Real Madrid had a very strong chance to challenge for the trophies until the last days of the campaign, but both Cruz and Modric were overworked and tired. Due to a number of injuries in the squad, then-manager Zinedine Zidane often had no choice but to use Real Madrid Castella’s players to reach the end of the season.
Having an Odyssey guard in circulation would be something any manager would want, and the Norwegians would be happy to have a chance to finally enter the lineup. That leaves Arsenal in the dust, with Mikel Arteta now forced to go for a replacement.
