Prereland FFA students attend the annual convention. Free.

PETTON VALLE – Preland High School FFA students Jessica Frances received a Lone Star degree, and Race Basano delivered a senior public speech in the Animal Science Division at the 93rd annual Texas FFA State Convention in Fort Worth earlier this summer. I finished ninth.

The Prairieland FFA sent 13 members to the convention, including performances by country singer William Clark Green. Throughout the week, members participated in the largest FFA event, with more than 11,000 FFA members and guests in attendance. According to information provided by FFA instructor Kimberly Ellison, the students served as voting delegates, listened to the retired addresses and encouraging speeches of state officials and participated in the selection of the new state officer team.

In addition to Francis and Bassano, the Prairie students attending the state convention included Cannon Hudson, Bracken Mitchell, Jason Todd, Ethan Adams, Kendall Fox, Kegan Forry, Lexie Smith, Cady Gray, Kelly Webb, but Dawson and Emerson Penny.
