The NETHERLANDS is the latest country to lift additional Covid restrictions.
From this morning, Britons will no longer need to test negative for Covid to be allowed to enter the Netherlands, including the popular city of Amsterdam, even if they are not vaccinated.
The Foreign Office website states: “From 23 March, all travelers from the UK to the Netherlands will not be required to have a negative test before leaving to travel to the Netherlands, regardless of their vaccination status.”
Previously, travelers were required to have a negative PCR test within 48 hours prior to departure or a negative antigen test within 24 hours prior to departure.
However, that rule was lifted this morning, meaning that vaccinated travelers only need to fill out a questionnaire. health declaration form enter the Netherlands.
But unvaccinated Britons are still unable to travel to the Netherlands for tourism reasons, meaning vacations are not an option.
There are a few exceptions for unvaccinated travelers – this includes close family members of terminally ill patients, grandparents visiting their newborn grandchildren, and divorced parents visiting their children.
From today, all unvaccinated Britons who fall into these categories will not need to take a pre-departure test to enter the Netherlands.
Vaccinated travelers are also warned that vaccination certificates are valid for nine months in the Netherlands, meaning travelers must receive a second dose within that time.
Any Briton who received a second dose more than 270 days ago would be considered unvaccinated unless they received a booster.
There is more good news for Britons traveling abroad as the Canaries have announced they will lift all Covid restrictions in time for the Easter holidays.
From tomorrow, the popular Spanish islands, including Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, will return to pre-pandemic operation.
However, President Ángel Victor Torres warned that this would be a temporary measure and the rules could be reinstated if the health situation deteriorated again.
Canada will soon follow in the footsteps of the Netherlands and cancel pre-departure Covid tests for vaccinated Britons from 1 April.
