PC Andrew Harper’s smiling assassins have paid more than m 1 million to taxpayers to avoid justice.
Henry Long, 19, and Albert Bowers, 18, and Jesse Cole, were jailed for murder after a tragic police officer was dragged more than a mile behind their fleeing vehicle.
New figures show he received more than 3 783,000 in legal aid for his trial and the appeal failed. Another £ 178,771 was spent on prosecution when two murders were denied.
The total bill is expected to reach £ 1 million after court time, including admin and expenses.
Andrew’s widow Lucy called the payments “amazing.” Her husband, 28, was critically injured when he fled Brixfield Southend, Brix, on August 3.
Lucy is campaigning for Harper’s Law.
He said: “It continues to amaze and irritate those who have shown no remorse for their heinous crimes. The people are paying a heavy price.
“It makes me more determined than ever to fight for Harper’s Law.”
