Netflix has released the first trailer for its latest shocking crime documentary, Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story, which uses archival footage to reveal how the disgraced host managed to “deceive the entire nation for four decades.”
Due for release next month, the documentary will focus on the sex offender whose death in 2011 prompted hundreds of survivors of his abuse to come forward and share their stories of how they suffered at the hands of Savile.

The trailer released yesterday gives a glimpse of the series as it aims to explore the “evil inside Jimmy” which led police to conclude that he was a predatory sex offender – perhaps one of the UK’s most prolific.
During his lifetime, Savile was known for his philanthropic and philanthropic work, including numerous fundraisers for various children’s hospitals.
The DJ and broadcaster was even awarded an OBE in 1972 and was knighted in 1990 for his services to charity, giving him the title of sir.
However, this was stripped of it after more than 450 complaints of sexual assault, leading to an investigation into Savile’s heinous acts at 28 NHS hospitals.
Police concluded that he sexually abused staff and patients for several decades, with victims ranging from 5 to 75 years old.
The trailer, 2 minutes and 14 seconds long, shows several pieces of archival material, in one of which former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher says that she would like to “thank him for everything you do, for every good deed.”
It also shows footage of Savile himself stating that he was a “volunteer helper” before adding, “when no one is watching, I help the girls.”
What is the release date for Jimmy Savile: British Horror Story?
The docuseries will be released on Netflix on April 6, and the series can be streamed from 8:01 am on the day of release.
However, while it is listed as a “limited series”, it is not yet clear how many episodes it will contain.
Interestingly, there are reports that the docu-series will have a “sequel” and some websites list British Horror Story as “part one”. However, it has not yet been confirmed if this show will be split into more than one part.
