Motorcyclists in Glasgow warn that the M8 is going through the necessary work.

Planned maintenance on the M8 between junctions 24 and 28 will begin Saturday, September 4, and Wednesday, September 15.

Work will be from 8pm to 6am.

The affected areas will include the Clyde Tunnel to Hullington Westbound and junctions 27 to 26 from Arkleston to Hullington Eastbound at junctions 25 to 26.

Traffic will be managed at various places while work will continue including diversion.

M8 Westbound traffic will leave M8 at Junction 24 Off Slip, turn right, and follow Helen St. toward A8. On the A8, the traffic will follow Shell Hall Rd and Renfrew Rd to the west at M8 Junction 26 Hillington Interchange, where traffic will rejoin M8.

M8 Eastbound traffic will leave M8 at Junction 27 Off Slip, and take Arkleston Rd, Renfrew Rd A741 to Glasgow Rd A761. Traffic will then go to the junction with Glasgow Rd A761, Paisley Rd West A761 and Sandwood Rd A736. At Sandwood RD Junction, traffic will turn left and follow A736 toward Hillington Interchange, where M8 Junction 26 will end eastbound on slip diversion.
