Police have launched an investigation into the murder of a man shot dead in Glasgow.
John McGregor, 44, was found critically injured on Thursday evening, August 26, at about 5:55 p.m. on Weston Street in Milton.
The father of five was rushed to hospital in critical condition and died on Saturday night.
Police Scotland Confirmed that the incident is considered a targeted attack.
Detectives are working with local uniformed officers as an extensive investigation continues.
The investigation team is also looking into the possibility of a burnt vehicle being involved in the incident.
Police responded to reports of a white Vauxhall Carsa van catching fire at Ativo Crescent, Cumbernold, around 9.50pm on Thursday, August 26.
“I want to appeal directly to the community and the wider public who have information that can help,” said Raymond Brown, Detective Superintendent of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team and Senior Investigating Officer.
“There were people on the street at the time of the attack, including small children, and I would tell people to think about it if they are still reluctant to come forward.
“We need your help to resolve this.
“I would ask anyone to contact us about the incident on West Ray Street, or the car van that was found later that night.
“I would appeal to any motorist in either of these areas who has dashcam footage to contact us.
“Any information, no matter how small, can be important.”
