Gallo Green Road: Two police officers injured and man arrested after dramatic chase by Paisley.

One man was taken to hospital and two police officers were attacked after a dramatic chase by Paisley.

Officers received a report that a man was in possession of a baseball bat and was disturbing Murray Street in the town of Renfrewshire at about 4.30pm.

As soon as the police arrived, they did man-made work to chase the police.

The man joined the constables on the city’s Gallow Green Road, near the roundabout that forms a junction with Well Street and Underwood Road.

Two police officers were attacked and one suffered serious head injuries.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A policeman Scotland The spokesman said: “At around 3.30pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021, police were called to report a man in possession of a baseball bat who caused trouble in Murray Street, Paisley.

“Officers attended and the man chased the officers. On Gallo Green Road near the roundabout, the man confronted the officers and attacked them. Both officers were injured and one officer suffered severe head injuries.

“A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to QEUH for diagnosis. He suffered a head injury during the incident. No civilians were injured. The interrogation is ongoing.”
