President Xi Jinping is “active and aggressive” in approaching former members of MI5 and MI6.

A secret memo seen by The Sun says China is focusing on “former business or social interests in China and Hong Kong.”

It warns: “We advise former staff members to avoid traveling there.”

He also warned against going to Russia.

The memo was sent after Britain agreed to share sub-tech with Australia to counter the Chinese navy.

The Chinese and Russian embassies will not comment. And an FO source will not confirm or deny the memo.
