Footballers’ wives star Leila Ross has called Rebecca Verdi and Colin Rooney “light-hearted” when it comes to their infamous Vagata Christie row.
The actress jokingly said that if the warring factions had torn each other to pieces, their quarrel would have been a plot line in the famous Notty drama.
Leila, 50, played Amber Gates in the Cult TV show, which is enjoying a resurrection on the streaming service Brit Box.
He said: “If it were the footballers ‘wives, they would have put it in the players’ lounge. This court has no business. They would rip each other’s T * s, break each other’s hair and move on. Go
“That’s the way they deal with it. I think Colin and Rebecca are lighthearted. Ask the truth.”
Colin and Rebecca – the wives of derby manager Wayne Rooney and Leicester City striker Jamie Verdi – have so far spent around 1. 1.4m in legal fees as they fight their case in court.
Colin, 35, claimed that Rebecca, 39, had leaked stories about him in 2019 from her personal Instagram account.
An online glitch that could have come straight out of the footballers’ wives – Rebecca fired back a few minutes later in anger.
It spawned countless social media memes, with spectators making fun of the confrontation as soon as the drama ended.
The footballers’ wives highlighted numerous stories, including Tanya Turner’s baby being killed by Amber’s dog and Frank Lasslett having sex with Tanya.
Spin Off Show, Footballers Views: Despite Extra Time, Reese ITV drama was discontinued in 2006 after five series.
Recalling the crazy program, Leila, who has been engaged to snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan, 45, 2013, said: “It was one of the best times ever. We were so lucky to have her. Become a part.
“People were like, ‘This is ridiculous,’ and honestly, there were times when we would get the script and say, ‘This is crazy, we can’t do this.’
“Then we were about to start filming and a story would come out where a footballer did exactly what we thought was on top, and we would think, ‘What do we do now?’
“It looks like we’re copying, it was crazy.
“She was shot in the summer, on the spot, with amazing clothes and great make-up.
“I was never in the make-up chair for two hours but you had to do it, it was about looks.
“It’s usually half an hour if you’re lucky.”
Commenting on her new popularity on the Brit Box, Leila said: “It’s great to see that everyone is watching it again and hopefully it will attract a new crowd of people who used to love it. Did not see.
“We covered everything, like homosexuality in football, which we talk about in sports now. Not so much in football, but people are coming out and it’s amazing.
“And I also remember people saying to me, ‘How many gay footballers are there? It’s on top.’ And I said, ‘Are you serious? Are you crazy?’
“A lot of people were young and exploring their sexuality or they enjoyed glamor on our show, there was something for everyone.”
Away from the footballers’ wives, Leila has been working on welfare brand holes and then on something, for which she conducts regular workshops.
He is also known for his role as Surgeon Sahara Shah in the tele-hospital drama Holby City.
He left the BBC series in 2012, but fans were happy to see him return for a three-month period, which ended in January this year.
Then in June it was announced that the drama is coming to an end on our screens after 23 years, the last episode of which will be aired in March next year.
Admitting that she was stunned by the owners’ decision to pull the pulse, Leila said: “Holby has some extraordinary actors and it’s so well written, it’s a shock.
“I just don’t understand why it’s coming out of the air. Honestly, I’m surprised. A lot of people didn’t see it coming. A lot of people are out of work. It’s just a great show.”
“It won’t be an option to go back and find more in my role, which is a shame, because I love Sahara. She’s a wonderful girl.”
And he has a script idea: “I can go back and have an affair with someone.
The role of Don Steele – I’d like to have an affair with Ange Goddard.
“Sahara and Angie Goddard are going to get it by the end of this year!”
