We don’t mean that we often boast about our city’s food credentials, but with top awards like next year’s National Burger at a Glasgow restaurant, it’s not difficult.
El Peru Negro’s talented team has won this year’s award for its top dog burger, beating stiff competition from 14 other restaurants across the UK.
This is the second time that Top Dog Burger has won the award, making El Pero Negro the only kitchen that can declare itself a two-time winner.
Chef Nick Watkins said. Eat out Magazine, which hosted the awards ceremony at a London event this week: “Winning the National Burger Award is a big deal.
“We hope that winning this time will be just as big for us. The competition is getting tougher, no doubt with the big names coming up. It has definitely gone to another level.
“Re-entering with the same burger was a big gamble, but it’s our signature and our biggest seller.
“This is the first burger I’ve made in this business, and it’s still our number one.”
The restaurant team says in a post announcing their victory on Instagram, “Oh we did it again. National Burger of the Year Award winners 2019 and 2021! Winning it twice for the first time. Great!”
Top Dog starts with a burger, a dry-aged, grass-fed beef that is topped with bone marrow and rockfort butter, double bacon, caramelized onions and black truffle fruit to give it a gold medal status. can go.
