The walnut orb weaver spider is found in most parts of Europe, including North Africa, parts of Asia and the United Kingdom. Males reach 8 mm but females can double that.

She is one of the most venomous spiders in Britain behind the false widow.

They are not deadly, but their bites are far from pleasant.
