Costa Coffee has made it easy to get free drinks with the relaunch of its loyalty scheme.
Coffee lovers will not have to buy as much as they can before they become deceptive.
Costa is changing the features of its rewards scheme this month so that customers can now deposit “beans” instead of “points”.
You earn a “bean” every time you buy a drink or food at a Costa outlet.
Once you’ve collected eight beans, you’ll get a free barista voucher of any size to deliver at any Costa coffee store across the country.
To redeem you must be a member of the Costa Club but it is free and easy to sign up for. Costa Coffee Club App. Available on both iPhone and Android smartphones.
The new scheme should be rolled out by the end of the month so that new and old customers can start collecting new rewards.
The old scheme was quite complicated compared to some users as for every £ 1 you spend, you will get five points back.
But each point was only worth 1p, so you had to rack up a lot of points.
This meant that with the old scheme you would get almost free coffee. It will cost. 48.40.
An average American gives you back about £ 2.20 each time.
So when you took five points for every £ 1 spent, it meant you had 22 drinks 20 2.20 euros – in total. Will have to buy at 48.40.
The minimum amount you have to pay now to redeem FreeB is minimal. 17.60, if you have purchased the same drinks that are currently eligible for the eight transactions. Save 30.80.
But there is a way to make it cheaper with the new system.
Consumers can earn two “beans” if they offer reusable cups for their order.
With the offer of double points for the “Green” method, you can claim FreeB in just four purchases, half the price of 80 8.80.
Existing members will be switched to the new scheme during September this year and will be emailed when their account is updated.
If you have already earned points or already earned benefits, you will not eat them in exchange.
Any free drink rewards from the old system will automatically be converted into “beans” at the same price and the current balance will be transferred.
Along with the rewards scheme, there are other facilities including free treats from the sweet counter on your birthday, and the opportunity to order through the app, which allows you to leave the queue at the store.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “Not only will Costa Club members be rewarded competitively for their purchases, but also using our Costa Club app, they can leave the queue or pay via contactless. Are
“We hope consumers enjoy the updated scheme and collect beans – taking a break from their busy days and enjoying a cup of their favorite Costa Coffee.”
It is noteworthy that Costa Coffee has eliminated some products and is offering less menus as food chains have been hit by the supply chain chaos.
But it was only last month that coffee lovers could buy free cans of iced coffee from the brand at their local supermarket.
